Interpersona 1(1) Editorial Editorial Agnaldo Garcia ICIRR - Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, Brazil
Download Text in PDF This first issue of “Interpersona: An International Journal on Personal Relationships” presents the contributions of authors from five countries and three continents. This was possible thanks to the cooperation of authors who submitted papers, reviewers who evaluated these contributions and other excellent professionals who made a dream come true. First over all, I am grateful to all those who made this journal possible.
Interpersona presents three essential characteristics destined to promote international participation and cooperation: (a) it is an online journal of free access; (b) accepts papers in different languages; and, (c) it presents an international editorial board. The journal is deeply concerned with free access to scientific information with recognized social relevance for the largest number of people possible, contributing to the democratic sharing of information, beneficial for established scholars (who may have their work accessible for a much larger audience, sharing their expertise with a wider public) and new scholars and students all over the world, especially in developing countries (allowing a deeper access to scientific information), promoting knowledge and research in the area. Language diversification is another tool to make the journal accessible to a wider international audience. The journal accepts papers in several languages (always with English summaries) stimulating new authors from non-speaking English countries to participate. The presence of works in different languages may be important for students to have access to scientific papers in their own language, mainly in many developing countries where English is not always an accessible language, even for university students.
Finally, I would like to invite authors from any country to submit papers reporting the results of quantitative or qualitative research and to remind potential contributors that theoretical papers and reviews are also welcome. New reviewers are also necessary. If you have a PhD degree (or similar) and are eager to review one paper a year, than you are also invited to join our editorial board. Authors are invited to send books for reviewing and, soon, we will have a session on theses and dissertations in the area. The advancement or our knowledge on personal relationships will certainly contribute to the scientific and social development of many nations worldwide. < Back to contents
